Flashbacks from your trauma memories, racing thoughts, and feeling emotionally unstable. They make you feel overwhelmed and anxious, and you struggle to relax.
To counter those feelings, you drink alcohol or smoke weed to calm your mind down and make you feel good.
Around certain people, you may feel anxious or notice poor anger management when dealing with them. At the same time, you keep helping and attempting to save people, but feel drained in the process.
Perhaps you don’t like being alone, feeling rejection, or being offended every week.
The stress may be great enough that you are beginning to experience thoughts of suicide, but you want to tell no one, due to wanting to look perfect. The problem is that struggling with perfectionism leaves little time for self-compassion.
Due to a lack of self-work, you keep overthinking everything, even to the point of staying in toxic relationships. Such relationships also make you a target for gaslighting and constant blame.
The sad part is that you keep justifying your partner’s behavior, even when the toxic relationship has caused division with friendships and family.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a proven therapeutic approach used to help with processing the flashbacks and dismissing the thoughts and stuck emotions caused by trauma.
At the beginning, we must establish rapport to ensure you feel comfortable and safe.
When we work to help you overcome your trauma, I will use eye movements to help with processing the flashbacks. Inner healing will be used to help access the stuck and blocked memories stored in the soul, which bleed out into anxiety and depression symptoms.
We will work on changing your belief systems with CBT and help change how you view your inner self, and dismiss the verbal abusive language that is stored in your mind.
Applying all those tools will lead to wholeness. Prayer strengthens your spirit and activates your spiritual gifts. We will heal the body, soul, and spirit, which equals healing.
You can wake up with fewer racing thoughts and gain the discipline to spend time with God in the mornings like you truly desire. As a result of therapy, you will become more confident and develop an inner desire to please others.
Now, rather than avoiding people and situations, you will become bolder and more vocal, and you will refuse to let others take advantage of you.
By becoming comfortable with yourself, you can leave a toxic relationship rather than keep making excuses.
Life will look amazing as you start to stop coping by consumption of alcohol or smoking, start saying No to others, while ignoring your needs, without struggling with false guilt.
It’s time to see and realize who you are without trauma as a constant partner. Let’s get started on our work together. For more information, please get in touch with me today.
